- Just curious people's opinions on the new CACG slabs. I have not seen one yet in person, but the slabs look very substantial and thick. Does anyone worry that once a coin is in a CACG slab it will be next to impossible to get out (possible damage in the process)?

- numismattackI snagged my first 3 CACG coins for inventory (1934 Peace Dollars) at ANA so I've finally had a chance to see what it's like to actually handle these. I like 'em. They stack REALLY well together -- there's virtually no gap when you put them in a double-row box so it feels like a nice solid block of plastic. The individual coins look nice in a display case -- almost OGH-like, and as expected the green "sticker" stands out when you're visually scanning a display case. I do really wish the "sticker" on the label were the exact same dimensions as a real CAC sticker (it's smaller and a slightly different aspect ratio). It would be nice to have a consistent look of the sticker across all coins. I'm kinda not-so-secretly hoping they change the design to fix that inconsistency.I snagged my first 3 CACG coins for inventory (1934 Peace Dollars) at ANA so I've finally had a chance to see what it's like to actually handle these. - IanRussellThey are thick - they feel solid while holding. Breaking out of the holder will be difficult, but I love that chips in the holder will be almost non-existent.They are thick - they feel solid while holding. - KerenceI picked up one of the free samples at the Pittsburgh ANA. It has a thin raised edge on both sides, probably for stacking, which gives it the thick appearance. My guess is that it won’t be any harder to break a coin out of this new CACG slab than a PCGS or NGC slab, but I’m sure we’ll start hearing from dealers and collectors if otherwise.I picked up one of the free samples at the Pittsburgh ANA. Cameos are the bomb. Enjoy your hobby fellow collectors!0 Comments 0 Shares 753 Views - Recently purchased a 1965 Crown with Churchill portrait minted shortly after his death. Love this coin, Churchill portrait very unique. Weight of coin feels substantial. Picked up several for $2 each. I know these are common, but the purchase took me back to the roots of why I collect. Coin does not have to be rare, just interesting. This one checked that box. Thanks for looking.Recently purchased a 1965 Crown with Churchill portrait minted shortly after his death. - While I know this is US coins, which I primarily collect, thought I would share a recent inexpensive find: 1965 Churchill Crown. Really cool coin minted to honor him shortly after his death. I bought several. Might even consider one for a pocket piece! While I know this is US coins, which I primarily collect, thought I would share a recent inexpensive find: 1965 Churchill Crown. - Nice piece. I like how you've documented when it was purchased. Also interesting to see the alternate spelling of "cigars," which apparently was interchangeable back then.Nice piece. - I don't always document my purchase dates, but did with most of my CWT. Only recently am revisiting and researching. Love to find references and back story to names on tokens.I don't always document my purchase dates, but did with most of my CWT. Only recently am revisiting and researching. - Just arrived this week for my collection. First year 1959 cameo Lincoln in an NGC PR67 Cameo slab. Enjoy! While the picture looks almost deep cameo, the honest reality is it is accurately designated as only cameo.Just arrived this week for my collection. - D.E. Stearns Grindstones, Berea, Ohio 1863 - added to my personal collection 2-10-01. Picked up at a coin show and imediately noticed this was the much rarer R-9 (2-4 specimens known) variety with reeded edge! Score!! Have included a picture from the Ohio State Board of Agriculture from 1862 listing that D.E. Stearns won a $2 prize for his grindstone in a contest with 38 entrants in the 3rd division. Historically Ohio was once the source for the finest grinding stones in the world. This is the only known token issued from this town.D.E.
