  • New purchase from the FUN show, 1813 O-102 R-3 XF-40 with a mushy, LDS obverse and a crisp, EDS reverse which is what this die marriage is known for. Obverse has some color behind the toning while the reverse is smooth, uniform, and attractive. The right side of the coin has what Edgar Souders describes as an end of strip error, when a small piece of the planchet was missing before being struck, and the small area lacking full detail as a result.
