- I’m not an avid Conder Token collector, but sometimes one catches my eye. I’ve been a fan of this reclining shepherd design (Worcestershire D&H 7 Dudley) for a while, and when one came up for sale I had to snatch it up. Such a charming, relaxing piece. This is an intersection of my interests in coins and tokens as well as photography - this token is advertising quality Daguerreotypes. The eagle is a lot flashier than I was able to capture. - I’ve wanted one of these coins since I started collecting coins in Canada back in 1993. The Gold Reserve horde made these more accessible to the collector, and are available close to or at melt. But I chose the harder to find 1913 rather than the more common 1914 $10 for my collection.
Fun Fact: When PCGS first created a label for the Gold Reserve coins I saw what they came up with - and I immediately went to the president at the time to get them to stop. They were going to use the Maple Leaf flag on the label, which wasn’t created until the early 1960s. It would’ve been anachronistic. I was left to come up with something different on my own using the old 1868-1922 ensign flag variation. The result was perhaps the most common TPG label for these coins. I wish I was a bit more creative and elegant with it, but the label endures. It was my first and only PCGS label that I designed.I’ve wanted one of these coins since I started collecting coins in Canada back in 1993. - One of the most challenging things I've photographed at GreatCollections so far is this large gold salver that includes a medal restrike commemorating the Battle of Waterloo. Seeing the image come together was very satisfying, and adds a lot of fun to my work! https://www.greatcollections.com/Coin/1512865/Great-Britain-ND-Gold-140mm-Battle-of-Waterloo-Medal-by-Pistrucci-Restrike-Set-in-Gilt-Plate-Uncertified-in-Fitted-Lined-Royal-Mint-Case-of-Issue-AGW-2234175-ozOne of the most challenging things I've photographed at GreatCollections so far is this large gold salver that includes a medal restrike commemorating the Battle of Waterloo. - I missed #TonerTuesday, but who cares? I'll post a toner anyway. This beautiful 1919 SLQ caught my eye last week, not just for the color but for the gorgeous luster and strike as well. MS-66 FH, part of the Neon Lights Collection. #GreatPhoto https://www.greatcollections.com/Coin/1503396/1919-Standing-Liberty-Quarter-PCGS-MS-66-FH-TonedI missed #TonerTuesday, but who cares? - Gold bars are always a joy to photographGold bars are always a joy to photograph 🤩From the SS Central America shipwreck, this gold bar is glistening due to the fineness (purity) of 944. They are usually seen in the 800s.
Just listed in auction:

- It's #TonerTuesday, and I thought I'd post a #GreatPhoto. This Canadian 1967 PCGS MS64+ Confederation Centennial 25 cent piece isn't rare by any stretch of the imagination, but I'll always have a soft spot for Canadian issues. A fun, pretty coin up for bids in the December 24th auction. It would make a great stocking-stuffer for the toner addict on your Christmas list. It's #TonerTuesday, and I thought I'd post a #GreatPhoto.
