About Me
Retired now, but as a younger man I didn't realize what a great collection my Mom and Dad put together. We had to sell off most if it to support my Mom. My dad passed away several years before Mom. A couple of years ago I started looking over what was left and was amazed. Of course they had a lot of wheat cents that I actual had fun going through during covid. After doing so I decided to start books for both of my grand kids and was able to fill most of both of them with the existing collection and still buying more to complete the books. I buy mostly what looks like fun from copper rounds to gold backs and silver backs. I am focusing on Peace dollars, mostly raw that I can afford, but like Mercury dimes and Indian cents too.

  • I just purchased a 1945 PCGS AU 58 micro s FS-512 and my question is, PCGS definition for FS is First Strike is the designation PCGS gives to coins they or a PCGS approved depository receive within the first 30 days of the coins release date. Does that mean they received it in 1945 and if so wouldn't you think it would have a higher grade than AU and a Full Band designation? Probably a dumb question but Iam new to coin collecting.

Talk about overwhelming info when you start lookin up info on Ancient coin. I can't wait for the next show, I think there's another one in January. living near Seattle they do have a fare amount of shows if you're willing to drive in our terrible traffic.
