Idler was a prominent Philly dealer in the second half of the 1800’s who handled 6 of the 10 proof only Trade Dollars struck in 1884 among other rarities. Tough token to photograph but eye appeal in hand is quite decent. If you have dealer tokens, let’s see them!Recently picked up this William Idler dealer token. - Very nice token. When Dave Bowers sold off his personal collection of civil war tokens a few years back, it was a real highlight of this niche in the hobby. For those that missed it, Dave would put out newsletters seemingly every week with tokens that had been pff the market for years and years. He had been collecting simce the 1950s and was known for buying whole collections at a time. I will miss those fixed price lists. Really once in a lifetime inventory!Very nice token. - Hi Everyone - my name is Jeff. I began collecting as a YN in the 1990’s and last year began transitioning toward becoming a dealer. I focus on popular and eye appealing classic and modern US coins and am excited to build more relationships with collectors and dealers as I ramp up and learn the business!
I can’t remember a more exciting or innovative time in this hobby - I’m very excited to see this new space dedicated to numismatics and look forward to all the discussions and relationships to come!Hi Everyone - my name is Jeff.
