    I am slowwwwwwwly building a 1937 proof set missing the dime and quarter. That said, I am pleased with the 3 others and want to be careful with maintaining what I perceive to be the quality level. First up is the half in OGH 65 with gold sticker.

    I guess I have learn the ropes. You can't do paragraphs here. Here are two of my favorite 1936 Proof coins, a Satin Finish nickel and the half dollar. And it seems that you can only post one picture per message. This site seems to be quite restrictive, which will make it hard to post here. You can't say much with no paragraphs and only one picture. Sorry.

      John, you want to use the top bar to post, not commenting. Right underneath the profile picture of the group is a reply bar, use that and you can upload pics up to 30MB.

    I must say that this seems to be a high level group. I put together a set of the 1936 to 42 Proof sets, with all of the coins certified by NGC or PCGS. It's more of a "collector grade set" which ranges from PR-64 to 67 with no cameo coins.

    My 1940 Proof Set. The cent is PF66RD, the nickel is PF67 (reverse of 1940), the dime is PF67, the quarter is PF66 and the half is PF67.

    The half dollar from the original Proof set I showed earlier - this coin graded PR68. The other coins in the set graded 67+, 67+, 67, 66RD in order of denomination.

    Did anyone watch the heritage coin auction last week? Sept 11th, the unopened proof sets were awesome! Boxes of 25 in a sealed shipping box. I was a little to poor to buy any.

      I saw it and decided not to get involved. One lot had boxes from the 1950 to '54 era that had no dates marked on them. The minimum bid was so high, that the sets had be 1950 or 1951 coins to be financially feasible, unless you got very lucky and find a ultra cameo Proof coin.

      Well the 36 to 42 proof quarters are notorious for having a weak strike. Actually I think they over polish the dies and some details are removed. This coin has a full pony tail and ribbon, which can be hard to find in this series.
