  • Thought I would mention on MyCollect that I am looking to sell some coins in my collection.

They are 1940 to 2000 Proof and SMS coinage (mostly 1950-1967 dated coins) that have been graded by PCGS during the 2022-2024 time period. Some of the coins have received a Cameo designation, while others have a Cameo appearance. I posted a thread on the PCGS BST Forum that contains a list of the coins (including Cert #), asking prices and for many of the coins True View photos.

If anyone is interested, take a look at my thread on the PCGS BST.

  • At local show I attended last Friday I bought an OGP 1950 proof set that contains a possible Cameo half and a Cameo cent. They will soon be sent in to a TPG to be graded.

  • Just joined this group and posting to say hello. I have found some FS varieties in my collection of raw coins and recently submitted a few to PCGS for grading.

    One newly graded variety is a 1950 D MS65FB RPM FS-502 variety (1 of 3 graded examples, with 2 at MS65FB and 1 at MF66FB)

  • Still quiet as a tomb around here.

The 1961 half dollar in the OGP set I posted a few months ago has been graded.

It graded PF68 (no Cameo). A very nice grade on the coin but I am surprised it did not receive the CAM designation. I that coin was the DDR FS-803 variety. PCGS disagreed. However, after checking the coin a second time I learned that it is the Variety Vista DDR-002 variety (which is not attributed by PCGS).

So, to conclude this post I say:

    Bueller?

  • I have not posted on MyCollect in over a year. Purchased this 1961 Proof Set on EBay as a BIN cherrypick. The half dollar looks like it is a possible CAM or even a DCAM. When the set is delivered to me I need to give the half a bath to remove the haze present on the coin. Hopefully it will clean up very well.

  • Yesterday I upgraded my 1939 Registry Set with a PF67 toned half, which replaced my prior PF64 untoned half.

  • I received an 8 coin voucher submission back from PCGS last week. The 8 coins include 2 1957 proof nickels that both graded PF67CAM, a 1951 proof dime that graded PF67CAM, 2 1957 proof dimes that both graded PF67CAM, a 1959 half that graded PF67 and 2 1961 half dollars that both graded PF67. IMO the three half dollars should have received a CAMEO designation.

  • Pretty quiet around here.

Here is a Trueview photo of a 1967 SP67CAM quarter. I have. I think that absent the toning on this coin it would warrant a DCAM designation. However the toning is very attractive and makes the coin stand out from others of that date (Removing the toning would result in a coin that Ricko would like).

  • This month and last month I have sent in a number raw, possible CAMEO, 1951-1972 proof and SMS coins (some toned) to PCGS for grading. Looking forward to seeing the results. I expect that some of these coins will grade high enough to upgrade some of my PCGS Registry Sets. Hopefully grades will post sometime before the end of the year.

  • Here are some toned proof Franklins. I really like the 1956 Type 1 and the 1956 Type 2.
