- DeadCatWaltz yes, so in a nut shell, in the 1960s General Motors was trying to come up with a new way to mint coins for the US Mint. And from what I read because there wasn’t any denomination on the coins a lot of employees kept them as souvenirs, even though there aren’t many graded. I think if I counted right there are only 7 graded by pcgs.[DeadCatWaltz] yes, so in a nut shell, in the 1960s General Motors was trying to come up with a new way to mint coins for the US Mint.
