- By far the smallest escudo I have ever owned or seen! This little 1 escudo was struck during the 1715 Fleet shipwrecks period we often see recovered on the wreck sites. With a nearly complete shield on the obverse and a perfect cross on the reverse, it has been a highlight of my personal collection. And graded NGC MS 65... just cant beat it!By far the smallest escudo I have ever owned or seen! This is one of my first Pillar 8 Reales. A 1768 Mo (#Mexico City) graded AU 58 by #PCGS, with nice luster and phenomenal toning. Some say an "electric blue" that pops out in the sun. Population 2/1. Excellent eye appeal and looks great in hand, especially under the natural sunlight. Cartwheels on both sides, and strong on the reverse. #columnario #8reales
