- VDBCoinsI've now completed my second Toned Lincolns, Wheat Reverse (1909–1958) PCGS Registry Set. My sets (both identified as VDBCoins) are currently ranked #4 and #8 Current Finest and #4 and #9 All-Time Finest. And they are very unlikely to move up any farther!I've now completed my second Toned Lincolns, Wheat Reverse (1909–1958) PCGS Registry Set. - With this coin (amazing greenie prooflike obverse, BTW), I am now one coin away (the 1915-S) from completing my second Toned Lincoln Cents, Wheat Reverse (1909–1958) PCGS Registry Set. And the 1915-S arrives in a week or so, MS65RB.With this coin (amazing greenie prooflike obverse, BTW), I am now one coin away (the 1915-S) from completing my second Toned Lincoln Cents, Wheat Reverse (1909–1958) PCGS Registry Set. - I've just acquired this 1938 Lincoln Cent PCGS MS-65 BN (CAC Green). Super Gem Toner for Our Primary Set0 Comments 0 Shares 348 Views
- If you were going to keep only one of these for your Registry Set, which one would you choose? The 1914-D is one of the really elusive keys to the set. The first below, graded MS64+BN PCGS CAC, is a wonderful blueberry toner with IMHO a single obverse tick near Lincoln's chin in the right field that keeps it from an MS65 grade. (Maybe I should try Reconsideration!) OTOH, the second coin below is graded MS65 PCGS CAC and is one of the finest for that grade I have ever seen. I own both of these. Talk amongst yourselves ...5 Comments 0 Shares 772 ViewsCommenting is disabled.

- I lean toward the 66. While I like toned cents for the novelty of them, the BN/RB to me usually highlights the design of the coins better. Since the first is CAC (assuming green?), I’m not sure resubmit would get anywhere, unless that is a CAC gold. Seems like PCGS is more strict on toned Lincolns.
Well, also based on this GtG game, Lincoln’s in general are being more closely held to ANA standards that nearly every other coin that seems to come across.I lean toward the 66.
