- Great article on member Robert.Julian by the ANA. For all who have enjoyed seeing his work this offers a glimpse into his process.
From Robert's post: I was recently interviewed by the ANA, and the resulting article offers a thoughtful look at the research, manuscript structure, and artistic process behind my numismatic work. It’s written with care and accuracy, and those who appreciate the deeper, archival side of the hobby may find it a worthwhile read.

View previous replies- justhavingfun This is interesting because it's not a "high demand" variety. The doubling is nothing special and can not be seen without a loupe. They do exist but the reason they are so elusive is because nobody can find one and not many people really care to find one. Raw avg circ grade sells for like $40-$60. They get lost in bags of 90%. Can it even be attributed by PCGS or NGC?[justhavingfun] This is interesting because it's not a "high demand" variety. The doubling is nothing special and can not be seen without a loupe. - RyanG Did you read my post? 16 years and I own every variety from 1932 to 1964 and have the Number 2 set at pcgs. 16 years and Not one example has been found and even JT Stanton told me he does not believe the coin exist. If you found one today even in AU the coin is easy over 1000 bucks. There are 20 other collectors I know that would pay BIG money for a graded example. I know many of the cherry picker flippers who make there livehood selling Varieties and Not one of them has ever found that coin. I also found an email to the editor at whitman to see about getting it removed......[RyanG] Did you read my post? 16 years and I own every variety from 1932 to 1964 and have the Number 2 set at pcgs. 16 years and Not one example has been found and even JT Stanton told me he does not believe the coin exist. - justhavingfun The ones Ive seen are questionable at best. I'm going off photos on variety vista. Not much doubling at all. There are a couple on eBay that match those photos but low grade, cheap, and not sold[justhavingfun] The ones Ive seen are questionable at best. I'm going off photos on variety vista. - justhavingfun Certainly not trying to discredit you. I do agree as well that none exist in AU or better. Like I said, I question if it can be attributed by one of the major TPGs. If it can't be officially attributed, it should certainly be removed as a collectible variety.[justhavingfun] Certainly not trying to discredit you. That and the errors that were listed as "varieties" (89-P & 94-P with clogged mint marks) in the 6th Ed. should be a thing of the past.[justhavingfun] I will absolutely second this.
