- Thanks for the review. I find the Coincraft English & UK Coins an essential aid for medieval coins, despite its age. It does a nice job with spelling out legends which can be hard to easily find in a single source. Coincraft also has an excellent guide for coins of Scotland, Ireland, Channel Islands, & Isle of Man. I have the 1999 edition with beautiful glossy pages. Thanks for the review. I find the Coincraft English & UK Coins an essential aid for medieval coins, despite its age. - I'm pretty new to collecting British coinage and mainly concentrate on the 18th century Provincial coinage and tokens, but I am fascinated by the medieval and hammered coinages, and am slowly working my way through some of the reference books on them before diving in too deep. I love their long history and varied mintages and designs, besides I can read the language easily too!
I figured since I'm collecting the coins older than 1800's then the background wouldn't be any less desirable, the only thing I have to deal with is the value increases. Coincraft book is great also looking to get the Spinks books as well down the line.

- Book Review-The Mint on Carson StreetI was able to pick up a copy of the extremely hard to find "Mint on Carson Street" by Rusty Goe published in 2004, for a very fair price recently! They are usually selling in the $300-600 range now it seems. My copy is a paperback version, there is also a hardcover version that was printed. This book is my second by Rusty, he is quite the Carson City historian. The other volume I have by him is...1 Comments 0 Shares 4578 ViewsCommenting is disabled.
- Wonderful review of a reference title I treasure! I have both of the earlier Rusty Goe books (and the Battle Born collection catalog, a wonderful complement to them) and both are not only scrupulously researched, but still well-written and skillfully arranged, and notably without the ponderous tone and woeful disorganization that some other (ahem) popular numismatic authors fail to avoid.
