I used this to sharpen my evaluation skills. I noticed that PCGS has a image of this coin and it's pretty obvious this is not the same coin graded by PCGS. - This post isn't an Ebay post but it sure could be. This morning I went to the coin show and bought a 2006 silver proof set to break out for my albums. I looked it over and didn't see anything out of place. In all honesty I didn't look real close just because I haven't had an issues with buying sealed proof sets. When I got home and broke them out, all the silver coins were clad. I went back and look at the box and the out side and didn't detect anything abnormal. The first breakout I did was on the quarters and that's when I noticed the the clad coins. The other plastic container looked good. The only thing I noticed was it seamed that the plastic case came apart a little easier then normal for that set. I've done several of these breakouts and never ran into any issue. The packaging looked spot on.
I don't buy the is a mint error. When going through it I was thinking how do I check of this and I didn't come up with any good answers. Has anyone come across this and how would someone detect this? This post isn't an Ebay post but it sure could be. - Sounds like someone switched it out with the clad set. Not the mint but probably the person who sold it to that dealer you bought it from.Sounds like someone switched it out with the clad set. Not the mint but probably the person who sold it to that dealer you bought it from.

- eBay is doing a good job at trying to silence people reporting fakes in public forums. This Group on MyCollect is so important for the future of holding eBay accountable for being one of the biggest sellers of fake coins and holders in the United States. We need records of the fakes so law enforcement will take action.

- not just the fakes, but also the photoshopped images where they airbrush out the scratches. Those could be stolen coins but they're photoshopped so the photo recognition doesn't catch them. - This is kinda an opposite situation. I just had a LEGIT listing flagged and removed. Is it because its a SEGS holder? I had it listed as "uncertified" in the listing specifics. The only thing I can think of is I said "certified by older TPG SEGS" in the condition but I didn't use the grade "53" anywhere. eBay is investigating it and hopefully they let me put it back on. I spent a good 10 min authenticating this coin myself prior to listing it. Its an Overton 109. Decent coin overall. This is kinda an opposite situation. I just had a LEGIT listing flagged and removed. - I think it's likely an ebay user flagged it. You are showing the grade in one of the photos.
It's funny, I keep clicking on the images to look at it and I know it's just a screen shot.
