How Do I Report Stolen Coins?

If your coins have been stolen, please file a report with Doug Davis of the Numismatic Crimes Information Center as soon as possible.

I've Found a Coin Reported as Stolen

Rewards are offered for the recovery of many stolen items listed on TheftCheck. If you have located a coin or banknote listed as stolen, please contact [email protected] as soon as possible.

A Coin Appears Stolen in Error

We only allow trusted industry leaders to submit reports of stolen coins and paper money to TheftCheck. If you believe a coin is listed as stolen in error, please contact [email protected].

How Do I Report My Coins Stolen?

If your coins were stolen, follow these steps to include in the TheftCheck database.

  1. File a police report that mentions PCGS, NGC, CACG, ANACS, ICG as the grading service and unique serial number for each coin.
  2. Send a copy of the police report with your contact information to Doug Davis at the Numismatic Crime Information Center (NCIC).
  3. Doug Davis will investigate, notify thousands of subscribers to his newsletter, post on his MyCollect page and also create the database entry of the stolen coins at TheftCheck.

Should your coins be recovered, please be sure to notify TheftCheck and Doug Davis as soon as possible.
