Clarifying my previous post. As a long time PCGS Registry member but new to My Collect, I'm trying to learn. I see that I wasn't clear on my question regarding point values. As a collector for 62 years I am aware of the whole PCGS vs CAC stickers vs CACG dynamic. Yea I'll throw NGC in there too.
What I was wanting to know, and I obviously did not convey in my previous post,
In regards to the My Collect Registry. I was looking at my sets and noticed I had a higher average grade in a particular set but was ranked lower. Then I saw that my point total was lower. That spurred me to ask the question ( I believe it was Todd who answered ) How can that be ? Obviously I wasn't thinking about CAC or CACG. I was told CAC stickered coins had an added point value. I'll insert here that all my coins in " My Set " are PCGS. I do have other TPG sets, just not entered here. So my questions are, How many points are added for a CAC sticker ? Are points higher for a CACG coin vs PCGS coin ? Lower for an NGC coin ? Are points added different for green vs gold ? Are the extra points added the same for every coin regardless of rarity ?

Points are given per set, not by coin. A coin may be 1000 points in one set and 800 or 1200 in another. I have an 1886-O PCGS CAC Morgan, it is a tough coin. It has great points in the Morgan PL set, but in the Morgan date set it is not used as a 1886 64 DMPL has more points. This is because for the slot, it takes 1886, 1886-O, 1886-S, the 1886 is very common so the weight for the slot is very low.

I am trying answer more of your points, PCGS CAC gold is the highest, then NCG CAC GOLD, PCGS Green CAC. NGC Green CAC, PCGS , and so on.

You might have been looking at a set I saw on the leaderboard near one of your sets where they average higher grades but are all NGC coins and yours were PCGS. Also many sets have weights, so you could average a lower grade, but have real high grade key dates and that cold give that set a boost.

  ToddPollock Actually I was looking at my 32-64 Wash. circ. strikes set compared to JHF's beautiful set, where my ave.grade is .12 higher but he is about 450 points ahead. Per our previous discussion, that is when you informed me of the CAC bonus points. JHF has quite a few with CAC stickers compared to the very few I have.

This is from the MyCollect Registry FAQ, but it doesn’t fully answer your question by revealing the specific weightings mentioned in number 2. Perhaps ToddPollock can clarify.

“ Sets are ranked on their total points, which is a sum of points awarded to each allocated coin in the set. To be eligible for the Current Leaderboard the set must be "Public", and also have the "Allow Raw" option set off - which are the default settings for new sets. Sets that are not eligible will still receive a virtual ranking so you can see how they would rank if they were eligible.

To calculate the points awarded to each allocated coin:

1. Start with the base points determined by the coin grade. This is not a linear function, instead higher grades have much higher base points over a lower grade to represent the rarity.
2. Multiply by a Grading Service weighting. There are different weightings for PCGS, CACG, NGC/NGCX, ANACS, and ICG. For PCGS and NGC there are variations for coins with CAC Green or CAC Gold stickers. Details coins have a separate weighting irrespective of the grading service. This weighting is to represent the relative value placed on coins in the marketplace, it is a simple fact that some coins afford a higher premium over others solely based on who graded it and whether it has a CAC sticker.
3. Multiply by the Item weight defined in the Set Definition. This is used to represent the comparative difficulty of filling this item compared to other items in the set.
Multiply by any optional suffix bonus weights if applicable”
