Most coins have more than one die variety. Dies have minor (sometimes major) differences that can be studied and collected.

Seated dime die varieties were studied in great detail by Gerry Fortin who literally wrote the book on Lib Seated Dimes. Great info to have for stuff like this! It can also be very helpful in making sure you don't have a fake to attribute the die variety. https://www.seateddimevarieties.com/Attributing%20Varieties.htm

  RyanG Yes, I collect many of the Seated Dime varieties. I know Gerry personally and have dealt with him since the 1980's. I have bought many many nice Dimes from him over the years.

That is a nice problem free Seated Dime in a nice mid grade. The Mint Mark on CC Dimes in 1876 can have similiar differences.
