- I have this guy who has literally a closet full of coins and bills, foreign and domestic, no error coins and all are in pristine condition. He wants to start selling and i am trying to help. He is an older fella in his 80’s, i am trying to explain the concept of grading and difference in value due to grading. This is a 1943 steel wheat cent.I showed him one like this that sold on GC for over $70,000. Could a few of you give me an honest opinion on what you would pay for this one ungraded to show him the difference, to me it looks better than the one on GC. I apologize for the pic i took a quick couple of shots while leaving. - You will find most people have accumulations and not many worth grading. You will have to do a lot of research on grading. You can use the guess the grade here and do education mode just for the series you are working on to find similar examples. That image does not tell me enough of what grade it might be. To the untrained eye many coins look amazing, but then closer looks reveal many hits, dings and hairlines. You will find most people have accumulations and not many worth grading. - I have a 1978 Quarter Filled D
The letter 'D' of the mint mark is partially or fully filled in with metal, often due to grease or a foreign substance clogging the die.
It appears as a solid blob instead of a clear letter, and this is a key error on the 1978 D quarter error list.
Is this the case with my coin?

- I previously posted but deleted it because I labeled the coin with wrong errors. This coin has a rim error with "liberty" and "1965" and on the other side a few of the A's are completely filled in. - I am not seeing an error here. The Liberty and 1965 are normally close to the edge, you edge is worn flat so it is even closer.I am not seeing an error here. The Liberty and 1965 are normally close to the edge, you edge is worn flat so it is even closer.
- ToddPollock my coin is different from the one pictured because the word liberty is pushed further up into the rim, especially the "T" and "Y," also on the back a few of the A's are filled in with metal.[ToddPollock] my coin is different from the one pictured because the word liberty is pushed further up into the rim, especially the "T" and "Y," also on the back a few of the A's are filled in with metal.

- Absurdum58 I'm unable to view the entire image. I feel like the ability to see the column headers would be a huge help otherwise how are we to know what price goes with what grade?
Also I'm assuming this is the red book so may I ask what year the red book is?[Absurdum58] I'm unable to view the entire image. - Hello, dear friends. I would appreciate your advice on how I can sell my entire coin collection.
Thank you.Hello, dear friends. I would appreciate your advice on how I can sell my entire coin collection. Thank you.2 Comments 0 Shares 3081 ViewsCommenting is disabled.- If it’s quick cash go to Local Dealer This will likely pay the least. Then you could put it on sites like eBay (Auction or Buy it now). Better money most likely but a lot of work, and high fees. You have to write each Ad, do photographs and deal with customer issues.
You could send it to an Auction Like GreatCollections. I sent my first consignment, and they received it Sept, 9th. So can’t give results. Communication and customer service has been excellent so far. My research shows they get some really good prices, and the process is turn key. There fees are low. Seller is 5% on coins less hang a 1000.00. 0.00 if over a 1000.00.. hard to beat that with a .50 cent listing fee of each item. They do everything!! Great photos, write up, grading and CAC certifications if you need that. So far great. This seems to be the easiest, snd most cost effective way to reach an absolutely huge base of Collectors Internationally.
Best of Luck

The number one reason I go to the various different pages groups sites forums etc is to learn. After viewing several different posts within this page/group, it's very clear there's nothing to learn from this page (for me personally).Okay I have officially seen enough! 1903 views on this post and not a single person had any thoughts, advice, suggestions...nothing? - Can anyone help me figure out what it's worth. It has paint spilt on it but I think it's one of the no S mark pennies? It shines and is very detailed. - Most likely a Philadelphia issued coin, but without better images it's going to be near impossible for anyone to tell you what you got. Perhaps you have a family member and or a friend's phone tablet or similar device in which you can attempt to take better pictures? Most likely a Philadelphia issued coin, but without better images it's going to be near impossible for anyone to tell you what you got.
