- All of Dr. Peter Jones books are fantastic, he released the rights to them for use through the Newman Numismatic Portal you can now get every one of them in a PDF format for free here:

I started with his book "Colonial History in your hands" and they are all well researched and have great photography, many are coins from Dr. Jones collections he has had over the years. So nice of him to give them away, as I'm sure they took 1000's of hours of work to create.
The Sedwick book is the bible on Spanish and South American Cobs. It is affordable (under $30) and available directly from Sedwick Coins, I got mine autographed. All of Dr. Peter Jones books are fantastic, he released the rights to them for use through the Newman Numismatic Portal you can now get every one of them in a PDF format for free here: https://nnp.wustl.edu/library/booksbyauthor/535610 I started with his book "Colonial History in your hands" and they are all well researched and have great photography, many are coins from Dr. Jones collections he has had over the years. - A recent pickup on my travels to France was this mind blowing 8 reales!! Not only does this gorgeous cob have nearly perfect surfaces, and is finest known at AU 58, but it also has a very interesting die error! If you notice, the usual "VIII" for 8 reales is actually showing "VII" for a 7 reales. Someone must have been drinking a bit too much the night before!
Finest known at #ngccoins and an absolute treasure of a coin. Enjoy!

- Philip IV. 8 Reales. Potosi. E. (Cal-type 335). Ag. 27.64 g. Choice, Double struck and rotated about 30 degrees at the cross. An irregular, chunky flan prevents seeing the date clearly. However, Assayer E appeared on these between 1652 through 1657, so that tightens the date range.Philip IV. 8 Reales. Potosi. E. (Cal-type 335). Ag. 27.64 g.
