About Me
Thanks to my uncle, I got into coins at a young age. I have all sorts of coins, from ancient Roman coins to plenty of interesting WWII-era and 20th century foreign coins which got me started off as a collector. I started to get into the graded coin market in late 2024.
Now, currently 17, I'm currently focusing on collecting Morgan dollars, finishing an inherited set of Mercury dimes, finishing a set of Wheat Cents, and building out my US type set.
I also collect proof coins and proof sets, and am working on assembling a full run of modern commemorative proof silver dollars with OGP, 1982-present. I dabble in world coins with a focus on Weimar Germany Notgeld and hyperinflation pieces.

- Hi folks,
I found this 1940-S Wheatie in a partial collection I just purchased, and it stood out to me because of it's glossy finish.
It doesn't look like a matte or mirror proof, nor did San-Fran make proofs. Is this just an exceptionally well-struk coin? Or has it possibly been dipped in some way? Or is this normal on some higher-grade Wheaties?
As always any thoughts are appreciated, and thanks in advance!Hi folks, I found this 1940-S Wheatie in a partial collection I just purchased, and it stood out to me because of it's glossy finish. - The S mint Lincolns from the 30s and 40s had super nice flashy luster (especially coins like the 38-S, 39-S, 40-S, 41-S), much like the flashy luster of an 1880-S or 81-S Morgan. So, it's normal for a coin like this, and hasn't been dipped. - Okay, this may be a stupid question, but can anyone tell me why the spot price is different in different places? Which one is THE spot?
I've been using BullionVault for years, though I've seen others use APMEX and SD bullion, and I know many in the industry use Kitco, which I have and understand that it is bid and ask, and not spot price.
My question is this: why is the Kitco ask below every other number, and why are the other 3 within the same dollar but not the same?
Again, maybe a stupid question, but I thought I understood this until I realized they're all different. Not sure if refresh/update rate is different or what. And yes these screenshots are all from the same time.Okay, this may be a stupid question, but can anyone tell me why the spot price is different in different places? Which one is THE spot? - It is vary hard to tell as some use different futures prices and I think some almost use their own "spot" derived off other futures for their own pricing. Some are using a bid and some an ask. - Hi everyone,
I just got this coin at a show the other day, and I noticed something off. First off, it's an 1861 3 Cent Silver (type 3) and yes it's holed and scratched, but I got if for just $10 thinking it was a good filler for my type set. Then, after I put it in and I was looking at both sides, I realized they are aligned in the same direction. Please tell me if I'm going crazy, but aren't all US coins north-south (↑↓)? Could this be a die alignment error? I'd appreciate any input you might have, and thanks in advance!Hi everyone, I just got this coin at a show the other day, and I noticed something off. Very cool! Certainly not supposed to be like that. I see it sometimes on smaller coins like Indian cents. It's rare on dollars and half dollars. You got a medalic alignment? Very cool! - Makes you crazy. eBay allows those Chinese fake Eagles at 14.99 too. Someone must be buying them. The other thing the kills me is tge individuals tgat grab common pocket change, use some app that says it’s valuable and then they try to sell it. That’s being generous some know they are not, and are just looking for inexperienced buys to take advantage of. We sometimes see tgat on here no sets, no inventory just some scuffed up common pocket change. Then they get indignant when called out on it. - Just got back from my vacation to Europe on Thursday, and one of the things I wanted to do while there was visit a coin shop–Shout out to Historia Hamburg in Hamburg, Germany. Great selection, and great people. Anyways, I just wanted to share a couple of the coins I got. These two in particular are German States coppers, both with some nice toning that caught my eye. I'm also happy to do another post or two about the other stuff I got if anyone is interested.Just got back from my vacation to Europe on Thursday, and one of the things I wanted to do while there was visit a coin shop–Shout out to Historia Hamburg in Hamburg, Germany. - Just curious to see if anyone has ever come across a slab like this before? Looks to be a meaningless Chinese copy of a PCGS-style slab, and the listing show some sort of verification page? Idk, just curious to see if anyone else has seen these before. I look forward to your thoughts.

- Came across this ANACS certified broadstruck Lincoln cent on eBay, but the slab doesn't look familiar to me and after check the ANACS slab generations (https://oldslabholders.com/anacs-cert-and-slab-generations) I could not find a match. I also noticed that the ANACS logo on the back label overlaps the barcode? Seems fishy. Was wondering if anyone had insight as to it's legitimacy. Not sure who would fake an ANACS slab, especially for something like this, but idk. Thoughts are much appreciated.Came across this ANACS certified broadstruck Lincoln cent on eBay, but the slab doesn't look familiar to me and after check the ANACS slab generations (https://oldslabholders.com/anacs-cert-and-slab-generations) I could not find a match. - Hello Everyone, I've been saving old coins and loose change all of my life with my grandmother. I now save them with my daughter. Is Coinsnap a good app to help identify MS coins? I have one of the 2001 Lincoln Memorial Pennies with a potential grading of MS65 with weight of 3.11g. I have over 1450 coins scanned in. I'm a newbie to saving sets. - slab is not genuine, but i don't know why someone would use a false slab on a broad struck, because they are as common as off-centers. It could be perhaps the seller has a hard time moving mint error coins, and a slab helps make it look official.slab is not genuine, but i don't know why someone would use a false slab on a broad struck, because they are as common as off-centers. - Hey y'all, just wanted to share some interesting coins I have! Nowadays I focus on US stuff, but I picked up these a little while back now.
These coins were issued during the First World War by the German military administration of the East, Ober Ost, which comprised the former Russian governorates of Courland, Grodno, Vilna, Kovno and Suwałki, corresponding to parts of modern-day Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Belarus. I have one of each of the 1, 2, and 3 Kopek coins. These were made of iron and minted in Berlin (A) and Hamburgische Münze (J).

It looks a lot like your standard 1996 proof set, but it comes in a box that's labelled "Proof Bank Set". Just curious, as I haven't seen these before. Here's the link for your investigation:
