Specializing in dealing US coins, US paper currency and all bullion, Marc One Numismatics has been offering complete numismatic services since opening in 1991 and now we offer a full service diamond and colored stones department. Marc One is a PCGS, NGC, CAC and GIA authorized submission center and dealer. Marc Crane, the owner, is PNG member dealer #565 and is nationally recognized as a grading and US coin expert. In addition, Marc is a Whitman Redbook contributor and is individually recognized in the Redbook’s US pattern section. Marc is also a MintErrorNews contributor. Now, as an industry retail leader daily buy/sell integrity price sheets are used for the most common 500 items we buy and sell. These "daily buy/sell sheets" are posted at www.marconeinc.com in the coin shop. Buy prices are not a mystery and neither are sell prices. Last week, Senate Bill 889 (SB 889) reached the desk of Governor Newsom for his signature, marking the successful conclusion of a three-month negotiation between the California Coin and Bullion Merchants Association (CCBMA) and the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA). I have emailed my local California State Senator Steve C. Padilla-DEM for direction about starting the process to introduce and pass legislation making it a crime in CA for anyone to knowingly sell fake precious metals, and coins of any type that are not of and for a didactic purpose. Also, caveat emptor can not be used as a lame defense if caught.
In my coin shop, once a month, a person of ill intent tries to knowingly (meaning I have already been informed by local cash for gold dealers) sell Marc One fake gold for cash or trade fake gold for real gold in my store. Every 6 months we see a fake slab.
In my opinion, there needs to be regulation curbing this pervasive theft behavior. A first time a fine should start at US $10,000. with a percentage going to your local Police department.
