  • Here’s the “matching” $1000 bill my grandfather gave me that two folks asked about. Also included a $20 gold certificate. I know this is mainly for coins but if some of you would stop spending so much of that folding money on shiny round (and other shapes, I am not a “shapest) then maybe you’d have time to check out Great Collections currency auctions. I’ve watched 4 closely and well they’re hit and miss as far as inventory (Not GC fault). But like last week with that EPQ 64 $1000 note, WOW. My neighbor collects currency by serial numbers only; he’s attempting to get all the denominations with all his grandkids birthdays. It may be worthless to some but he’s always enjoyed it. I admittedly didn’t get it until he knocked on my door with a $100 bill with my birthday 2 digits for the month, 2 digits for date and 4 digits for the year! MY point is why pay 22% or higher when (sorry Ian) but just in the past 1.5 -2 years GC is auctioning off some cool stuff. Maybe EVERYONE (whether you collect or even if you’re not a member; Let’s email BlueVette! See Todd, I’d never use your name cause your so good to my GSA’s.

  • Just added my fifth unappreciated coin (CAC of course) to my Top 100 U.S. coins. That puts me at number 10. Can I retire with just 5? They’re really ice catching crap.

  • I swear I don’t go looking for coins that cause problems for y’all. I’m beginning to think between my eyes and age it just me.
BUT could you explain why this 1 cent won’t fit in my Lincoln set? (Bet you thought I was gonna say GSA

  • Hats off to the folks in shipping, inventory control etc. (especially shipping) at Great Collections. I won a lot Sunday night and paid right afterwards. Three days later (Wednesday) my newest GSA arrived and packaged as if it belonged to Mr. Russell; well I guess it kinda did for awhile. WOW, does that mean I can say “ I acquired this
rare piece from the Ian Russell Collection”?
I live in deep redneck, spin your cousin East Texas.

  • Todd,
Is there anyway to make a custom set (like boxes of..) and leave “blanks?”
    i.e.

    GSA’s
    1878-cc
    1878-cc VAM 11
    1878-cc VAM 18
    1878-cc VAM 24
    1879-cc
    1879-cc VAM 3
    ETC.
I’m not asking you to make a set, just wondering if I could make a complete set with blanks and fill as I find them. As of now 33 different all labeled as appropriate VAM. Still missing three. Thank you!
