    What Makes a Coin Valuble?
The age old question of “is this coin valuable” is common among the general public and beginner coin collectors. In writing this article I hope to provide some guidelines for what generally makes a coin more valuable than its counterparts. By no means is this article an exhaustive guide for whether or not your coin is valuable, though it should be useful for narrowing down possibly...

  • I am hoping to sell this 1990 Canadian Maple Leaf which is graded MS67 by PCGS. I am well aware that it is not a key date and has a bit of unattractive milk spotting. However, I am hoping to find someone who will welcome this coin into their collection as it does not really fit into mine. Looking for around $80 (USD) but I am willing to negotiate if you are interested.

  • I am curious what everyone's rarest coins are in their collection. For me it is this 1874 50 cents from Newfoundland that is graded VF30 by PCGS. This coin has a mintage of 80,000 but the survival rate of these coins is unknown.

The Scandalous King of the Twentieth Century
When you think of scandals in the British Royal family from the twentieth century, that of King Edward VIII is probably high up there. Famous for being the King who abdicated the throne before his coronation to marry Wallis Simpson, being one of the most controversial actions in the history of the British Monarchy. This scandal continues to haunt the Royal family to the present day, especially,...

The Portrait of King Charles III
On September 8th, 2022, at 15:10 BST the world was shook by the death of Queen Elizabeth II. I still remember being on my lunch break in high school and reading a headline from the BBC stating: “Queen Elizabeth II has died.” This headline not only made me emotional, but the entire world was united in honoring the life of Queen Elizabeth II along with asking the question; “who...

The Definitive of King George VI
King George VI is arguably one of the monarchs who experienced the largest bout of political change in the twentieth century, with him experiencing the entirety of the Second World War, working alongside Winston Churchill. Taking his brothers throne after his scandalous abdication George VI numismatically saw the debasement of the British coinage with all the silver coins such as the one imaged...

The Different Effigies of Queen Elizabeth II (1952-2022)
Queen Elizabeth II is the longest-reigning British monarch, surpassing Queen Victoria in 2015. Consequently, there is a large variety of coinage with her portrait on it from multiple commonwealth countries such as Canada and Australia.
