- Hi Gang, I was just wondering if anyone else is seeing the problem in which the coins are assigned point values for the registry sets. A coin in a PCGS holder is assigned a higher value than if it is in an NGC holder? Both coins could have the same grade and both have a green CAC sticker, but the PCGS coin would receive a higher point value. If you send both coins in to CACG to be crossed into their holder, then the coins are assigned the same point value? Does anyone else see a problem with this? Thanks

They’re doing their best, and in my opinion, have been doing a fantastic job with this Registry in the relatively short time we’ve had it. Hey, this wonderful hobby is about having fun! With that said, right or wrong, there’s no doubt that in general, “the market” values PCGS w/CAC higher than NGC w/CAC, and PCGS higher than NGC. As you indicate, there appear to possibly be some inequities, so just bring it to their attention. They’re open-minded, and if your point has merit, they’ll adopt the change/correction. - I hear you Cjdilego, I have noticed and I do get that PCGS is considered slightly tougher/more conservative than NGC and hence should have a slightly higher point value, however, in this registry system it goes too far, at least in my humble opinion. I have seen a PCGS 65 worth more points than an NGC 67, that is crazy. I will swap anyone all day long my PCGS 65 for NGC 67's, I guarantee I can get more money for the NGC 67, the difference is not that great.I hear you Cjdilego, I have noticed and I do get that PCGS is considered slightly tougher/more conservative than NGC and hence should have a slightly higher point value, however, in this registry system it goes too far, at least in my humble opinion. - The CAMs and DCAMs are not contributing to the point value so I have a hard time believing that a NGC 69 is worth less points than a PCGS 67 DCAM?The CAMs and DCAMs are not contributing to the point value so I have a hard time believing that a NGC 69 is worth less points than a PCGS 67 DCAM?
- Cjdilego Not all sets are fully scored. I have many sets when I turned on scoring but have not yet put i weights and bonuses. If there are ever sets you would like to see scored sooner than others, message me or send a message to the help desk and I will try to get to them.[Cjdilego] Not all sets are fully scored. - You are correct on the plus designations not automatically crossing. I have had some that have crossed, but most have not. It would make it easier if we could see what the point value will be for each coin. I have a 1961 NGC PF68 half dollar with a green CAC sticker getting lower points than a 1961 PR68 Cam half dollar? You are correct on the plus designations not automatically crossing. - Would you consider PCGS CAC, NGC CAC, NGC, PCGS, CACG all the same points? Also a PCGS CAC 66+ and NGC CAC 66+ are not guaranteed to cross at CACG.Would you consider PCGS CAC, NGC CAC, NGC, PCGS, CACG all the same points? Also a PCGS CAC 66+ and NGC CAC 66+ are not guaranteed to cross at CACG.
- ToddPollock how about points for having a picture of the coin ? Because people should want to load pics. But most don’t unless it comes with the coin. , idk. Just a thought[ToddPollock] how about points for having a picture of the coin ? Because people should want to load pics. But most don’t unless it comes with the coin. , idk. Just a thought

- This is a great question for the U.S. Coin Sets Discussion [MyCollect™ Official] group. We have a tiered system that has PCGS CAC coins the highest points. Our tiers are not set in stone. We fully anticipate to make changes over time as companies change. This is a great question for the [group:coinsettalk] group. We have a tiered system that has PCGS CAC coins the highest points.
